INDIAN
AMERICANS BACK HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT

A
group of wealthy and well-connected Indian Americans has formed
a support group for Presidential nominee, Senator Hillary Clinton.
The 'Indian Americans for Hillary 2008 (IAFH)' aim to bring together
prominent members of the Indian community to provide Senator Clinton
with a united front on the road to the White House. The group's
first milestone event is a fund raiser to be held on June 24th at
The Sheraton Hotel, New York City where over 1000 guests are expected.
Among
the list of distinguished international business and political luminaries
epxected as Guests of Honors are: Mr. S.P. Hinduja The Hinduja
Group, Mr. Lakshmi Mittal The Mittal Group, Mr. Subhash Chandra
Zee Network, Ambassador Richard Holbrooke and Terry McAuliffe,
Campaign Chairman. Joining IAFH are prominent leaders within our
community who have been ardent supporters of both democratic initiatives
and of the Clintons for the past 15 years.
The
IAFH Committee includes Dr. Deepak Chopra, Mike Patel, Dr. Bhupi
Patel, Dr. Ranawat, Dr. Dipak Nandi, Ravi Akhoury, Kamal Dandona,
Hemant Patel, Rupali Patel, Naina Sachdev, Alkesh Patel, Tejinder
Singh Bindra, H.R. Shah and Prakash Shah. Many more prominent supporters
are expected to join this initiative in the upcoming weeks.
The
levels of participation are: Chair by raising $100,000, Co-Chair
by raising $50,000, Patron at $ 25,000 or a Host Committee Member
at $ 10,000. Patron Committee Members, and above, will have the
opportunity to attend a private VIP meeting with Senator Clinton.
They will also receive photographs with the Senator, be seated at
prominent tables and have their names printed on program materials.
The maximum individual contribution is $ 4,600, and only U.S. citizens
and permanent residents (green card holders) are allowed to contribute.

Dandona, Chairman of The Bollywood Groupof companies said of their
support "I have been an early supporter of Senator Clinton
and witnessed first-hand her initiatives and her efforts for our
community. Senator Clinton is perhaps the only candidate to have
continuously contributed to upholding the improvement of US-India
relations while championing for the Indian-American community within
the US. Her support to the US-India nuclear non-proliferation agreement
and frequent visits to India are only some examples of her constant
loyalty to our community nationwide and globally. "
