Ash PatelAn Indian-origin man has been given a key role in the restructuring at Yahoo!. The new structure consolidates responsibility around two senior executives, Ash Patel, who has been with the company since 1996, and Hilary Schneider, both working under president Sue Decker. India ranks low among best countries for business: Forbes
The Taj MahalIndia has been ranked 64th in a global list of best countries to do business in, dropping from 51st place last year. While India has dropped 13 places, China is down two notches to No 79. In the new Forbes study that compared business climate from various angles in 121 countries, Denmark tops the list, having displaced the US, last year's leader. read more read more
 
Chevron blamed for destroying natural forest in Bangladesh

Image from the Chevron CSR Report 2007.Environmental groups in Bangladesh are up in arms against a US-based oil giant for allegedly destroying a natural forest while exploring for oil and gas near the north-eastern frontier with India. The seismic surveys conducted by Chevron oil company had caused irreparable damage to the Lawachhara forest, located near the tea terraces of Sylhet province, said the Society for Environment & Human Development. read more read more
