Cricket Lovers
The
weather had a major impact on the weekend's fixtures. Most
of the games were called off early Sunday morning. There were
a number of games which got started; however none were completed
due to rain.

Lankians
were on the verge of taking revenge upon Embassy when the weather
took over to play a major role. Ali Haider (75) provided the foundation
for Embassy's 156 in 28.4 overs. Lankians fit again skipper Raslin
Sirajudeen 5-20 and Arshad Younus 4-19 took the bowling honors.
When Lankians batted, Suranga Daluwatte (52) set them up for a victory;
however a 5 wicket haul including a hat-trick from Azhar Hussain
(5-35) checked their progress. Lankians finished on 124-7 in 25.4
overs with Raslin Sirajudeen stranded on 28no when the game was
abandoned.
Indiana
are champions of division 2 following their first season in this
section. In the 2nd XI competition, Neasden II are crowned champions
having created a 30 point gap between themselves and DIU of Southall
as they go into their final match.
There
are a number of key issues in the top three divisions that are still
to be decided as we go into last weekend of matches; 10 of the 11
games is likely to have an impact of the final league positions.
