Greetings! Cricket Lovers
MATCH
REPORT FOR 19 AUGUST 2007
The
weather took it's toll again this weekend. Some clubs have now had
up to a record 5 fixtures to the wet weather this season. In
division one, the match between Lankians and Neasden which would
have virtually sealed the loser's fate to division 2 cricket next
season was one that was lost to the weather. Embassy are champions
of division 1, 9 years after joining the league. Embassy's game
against Kingsbury Construction was washed out and with Stanmore
Jaffrey's withdrawal, Embassy have created a 22 points gap between
themselves and 2nd placed Anson.
Kondor
and West Harrow will both play division one cricket and will play
each other in their final match of the season on 2nd September 2007
to decide who goes up as champion. Kondor managed to play their
fixture against Bharat Olympians which turned out to be a low scoring
match. Bharat Olympians were restricted to 95 in 35.2 overs with
Harshad Patel taking 3-23 and Dhiran Haria 2-14. Kondor also struggled
with the bat, however Rishi Kotecha made a match winning 31 not
out as Kondor got home by 5 wkts.
In
division 3, Indiana's match against Sayona was washed out, however
they remain on top and now only have to win against Regency in the
last game of the season to go up as champions. Regency were crushed
by 8 wickets by Young Lions and look to be heading for a winless
league season. Sojal Chaudary 55no and Pradip Solanki 5-33 starred
for EKTA in their 7 wicket win over Young Puthoharis.
The
Middx Premier Cup will be played on Sunday 26th August between Rajput
Samaj and Sri Lankan Cavaliers at Headstone Manor, North Harrow
with the match starting at 11.00. The plate final will also be contested
on the same ground between Embassy and Kingsbury Construction.
