of 60 years of his work as an actor, producer and director. During
the course of a thirty-five-year career, he directed six of the
most popular films of Hindi cinemaAwara, Shri 420, Sangam,
Mera Nam Joker, Bobby, and Satyam Shivam Sundaram.

Between
7 11 November 2008, the South Asian Cinema Foundation is holding
its 5th Film Festival. Bollywood: The Flipside! to pay tribute to
Peoples Filmmaker, Saeed Akhtar Mirza. Saeed Akhtar Mirza
is one of the pioneers of New Wave progressive cinema in India.
His films right from Arvind Desai ki Ajeeb Dastaan (1978) to Naseem
(1995), have captured the passions and frustrations of an India
emerging uneasily into the 21st century.

Khan celebrated at the Mayfair Media Club |
Acclaimed
Bollywood director and choreographer, Farah Khan was celebrated
at the Mayfair Media Club in Central London on 22 October 2008.
The mother of triplets had flown into London for a special 'in conversation'
style event organised by Parminder Vir OBE and hosted by Surina
Narula MBE. Khan who shot to fame with 'Main Hoon Na', a film produced
by and starring her friend Shah Rukh Khan, was in ebullient form
at the Media Club event.
