Tayyabs wins Best Indian Restaurant at the London Restaurant Awards 2008Tayyabs, started by Mohammad Tayyab over 30 years ago, won the Best Indian Restaurant of the Year award at this year's London Restaurant Awards held on 1st September 2008. VINEET BHATIA'S 'RASOI' BEST IN LONDON FOR INDIAN CUISINE
Vineet BhatiaMichelin Star chef Vineet Bhatia's Rasoi is once again rated the best London restaurant in the Indian cuisine category, according to Harden's London Restaurants list for 2009. The best London restaurant rating goes to Petrus, the restaurant of top chef Marcus Wareing, who has two Michelin Stars. Gordon Ramsay's eponymous restaurant slips from the first place after eight years and is rated second. read more read more

Hash Chavda of The Chilli Pub CompanyFrom early August there will be a new addition to the gastro pub map, when The Oak at Hockley Heath opens its' doors to customers. Executive Chef Hash Chavda and Operations Manager Tony Day have joined forces to form The Chilli Pub Company. Jamal Hirani, co-founder of Tiffinbites.The Gourmet Restaurant Group, owners of the Tiffinbites, has become the largest Indian restaurant group in Britain after acquiring two restaurant chains. The group has purchased Bombay Bicycle Club chain and Vama, started by Arjun and Andy Varma. D Vassaramo of Thornbury Hall Rasoi restaurant, winner of the International Indian Chef of the Year 2008 title.A Staffordshire chef, D.Vassaramo of 'Thornbury Hall Rasoi, beat off stiff competition from seven other expert cooks on 25 February to win the International Indian Chef of the Year 2008 title and a £1000 prize.
